An electric circuit or network is a path along which electric current can flow. A simple circuit consists of a current source, such as a battery or generator, two conducting wires and a load. Any electric circuit is a pathway for electrical current. The simplest circuit consists of a power source, load, two conducting wires attached to a terminal of source and to load. This is a closed type of circuit.
There are also open or broken types of circuit where switch controls the opportunity of current flow.
Loads turn energy into more useful forms, like light bulbs producing light energy, car motors changing the electrical energy into the mechanical and so on.
In case when abnormally high amount of current passes through a network, we get short circuit. To prevent this people use fuses which melt when high amount of current flows through them, closing the pathway to it in circuit.
The standard return to circuits is the earth ground and to prevent danger of electrical shock to human, ground-fault-interrupt device immediately opens the voltage source to the device. It works like circuit breaker but isn’t designed to protect circuit components.

Amber effect founded by ancient Greeks marked the beginning of the study of electricity.
So far as humans noticed that all substances, gases and liquids consist of elements which are composed of atoms, they learned about atom's nucleus and orbit shells. The first is made of positively charged protons and non-charged neutrons, the second is moving on the different energy levels electrons - negatively charged guys. The valence electrons are located on the outermost shell and create the most important electrical properties of material.

Simple logic: the more free electrons to move between the atoms - the more electric flow the material can pass through! Conductors are materials full of free electrons often coated with insulators - materials with low amount of free electrons. Semiconductors with conductivity halfway in between guys from the past sentence, are used in transistors. And of course generator is important current flow mover, placed in the end of conductor.
I hope one day humanity will know What is electricity? in its right description! As I know, now the world live without any explanation of this.. phenomena? I suppose.
